The movie featured 1977 Lotus Espirit submarine car which is up for auction on eBay currently at an enormous price of USD 1,000,000. The 1977 Lotus Espirit is just a prop and does not function as a car or underwater submarine.

The Ebay listing states that the car has been used in the original movie as a prop and has been completely restored. To add a funny nuance to this enormous pricing, the auction site notes, “The same price that Dr Evil charged to spare the world in the first Austin Powers movie.” It is said that about a total of about 6 props of Lotus submarine cars have been made, of which only three have survived. The owner has stated that this is only one of the three Lotus submarine cars that are remaining. As of now Elon Musk, founder of Tesla Motors, is the only one who owns such a car and he had purchased it last year and intends on modifying it for real. People intending on buying this prop shall have to take pride in owning it for display rather than driving it around the town.
