The Jaguar XJ 2011, one of the most popular luxury sedans in the global market, has been named as the International Luxury Car of the Year for its stellar performance and unique designing, the company said on Thursday. The selection jury of the International Car of The Year (ICOTY) comprises of 12 nationally-renowned automotive journalists. The car was introduced in May 2010, and since then it has been receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers and car enthusiasts alike.
In a statement given in Mumbai, Jaguar Global Brand Director, Adrian Hallmark said "We are delighted that the 2011 Jaguar XJ has received this honor."
While further commenting on the achievement of the Jaguar XJ, Mr. Hallmark said that the all-new XJ is a benchmark in both design and technology, and the company is thrilled to receive such an accolade from one of the highest international panels of judges in its industry. He added that the success, along with the redesigned XK and XF, speak volumes about the future of the Jaguar brand as a leading edge premium car-maker.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), is a British subsidiary of the India’s largest vehicles maker Tata Motors. The company was acquired by Tata Motors in year 2008.
