Jaguar Land Rover, the British automotive company owned by the India based Tata Motors has announced the worldwide premiere of the production version of the F-Type sportscar at the upcoming Paris Motor Show scheduled to take off in the next month. The unveiling of the F-Type two-seater will mark the automaker’s return to the sportscar segment.
In a statement, Jaguar Land Rover commented that F-Type, Jaguar's all-new aluminium two-seater sports car will mark its international debut as a production version on 27th September at the Paris Motor Show. The company has confirmed that the car will be launched globally by the mid of the next calendar year in a versatile range of variants comprising of several petrol powertrains.
Mr. Adrian Hallmark, Director, Jaguar Cars Global Brand, was quoted as saying about the international debut, "The unveiling of the F-Type in Paris will be a truly significant day in Jaguar's history as it will mark the company's return to the sports car market, a market it originally helped to create."
The two-seater roadster will be initially launched in convertible body type with a choice of three petrol engines. Moreover, choices in variants will be made available with the automaker’s newly developed 3.0 litre V6 engine, an upgraded rendition of the existing 5.0-litre V8 engine.
In the month of April 2012, the company had confirmed the launch of the F-type sportscar that made its debut in a concept avatar tagged as C-X16 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The production version of the Jaguar F-Type will be rivalling with the much acclaimed cars in the segment such as BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster and Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class in the international auto market.
