Jaguar has revealed more details on the 2.0 litre, four cylinder, Ingenium turbo-diesel engine a few days ahead of its official public exhibition slated on October 2, 2014, the first day of press at the Paris Motor Show. The 2.0 litre, four cylinder, Ingenium turbo diesel engine will be seen in 2015 XE. Claimed to be the most fuel efficient diesel engine from Jaguar, the new 2.0 litre, Ingenium, four cylinder engine is made of aluminium. The Euro 6-compliant engine is bestowed with the variable exhaust valve timing, selective catalytic reduction technology and a cooled low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system. Jaguar will manufacture the new engine at its newly constructed 100,000m2 production center located in United Kingdom.

Jaguar will offer the new engine in 2015 XE in two states of tune- a 163 Hp and a 180 HP variant. The 163 HP variant will churn out a top torque of 380 Nm and will enable the vehicle to return 75 mpg UK ((62.4 mpg US or 3.7 liters / 100 km) and emit just 99 g/km. This will make the baby Jaguar the most fuel efficient vehicle produced by Jaguar ever. On the other hand the 180 HP variant will output 430 Nm of peak torque.

The petrol range of 2015 XE will be offered in two engine options including a 2.0 litre, four cylinder, turbocharged, petrol engine and a beefier 3.0 litre, V6 supercharged engine. The 3.0 litre, V6 supercharged petrol engine capable of delivering maximum power output of 340 HP along with peak torque of 450 Nm will be housed in the XE S variant.
