Jaguar, the British luxury carmaker, that is keen on revamping its existing lineup, has now revealed the 2016 XJ facelift. Expected to be launched by the end of 2015, the XJ facelift has received few exterior and mechanical updates. Though, the most significant changes have been made to the car's interior.
Talking about its engine, the base variant of the Jaguar XJ facelift is powered with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 296bhp. Whereas, other variants carry a more powerful 5.0-litre V8 engine that delivers 470bhp. The performance version of the sedan – XJR – with the same powertrain can produce 550bhp. Jaguar claims that the saloon’s new electronic power steering will be more responsive than before.
The company will add a new top-end Autobiography variant to the lineup that will available only on the long wheelbase version in the international markets. This new trim will feature special individual rear seat setup with personalized rear entertainment system, illuminated treadplates, quilted leather seats and 20-inches alloy wheels. A new XJ R-Sport trim with slightly tweaked styling, special interior trim, sport seats and a rear spoiler will also be on offer.
Coming to the features, the facelifted model will additionally get Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro system, new 17-speakers Meridian sound system, Jaguar’s All-Surface Progress Control system, semi-automated parking system, updated infotainment system and instrument cluster, driver assistance features etc.
To be made available in multiple wheelbase, drivertrain and trim options, the 2016 Jaguar XJ facelift will take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8.
