The Jaguar F-Type 2.0-litre has been launched in India at Rs 90.93 lakhs for the Coupe and Rs 1.01 crores for the Convertible.

      F-Type

The four-cylinder F-Type makes 296bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The new four-pot F-Type has been positioned below the V6. Its power is down from 335bhp to 295bhp, and the top speed has been reduced to 250kmph compared to the V6. The declawed F-Type will GO from 0-100kmph in 5.7 seconds. It also gets the eight-speed automatic transmission as a standard which sends power to the rear wheels. However, there are no manual options.

The smaller engine also helps the Jag lose up to 52kg over its V6 brethren, weighing just 1,524kg (convertible is 1,545kg). Most of the weight is on the front axle. The active exhaust does come as standard which helps the F-Type maintain its mean demeanour. The R-Dynamic variant also gets switchable features for additional aural satisfaction. Visual update to the four-pot Jag includes a single centre placed exhaust, with 18-inch wheels as standard. The new LED headlamps come as standard, with a revised front bumper. Other updates include a lightweight pair of seats on the inside and improved centre screen with additional driving aids.

Commenting on the launch, Rohit Suri, president and managing director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said, “We are very excited about the introduction of the 2.0-litre engine on the F-Type. This will make our sportscar brand more accessible to Jaguar fans and customers across the spectrum. Enthusiasts are sure to be thrilled by the appeal of this pure breed F-Type with its own unique driving character.”
