      Jaguar Land Rover restructures its management operations

      Tata Motors wholly owned subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover recently announced that it will overhaul its management hierarchy to create a new and unified marketing structure across both Jaguar and Land Rover brands. The decision is aimed to shuffle the management executive committee of both brands and merge them under a single structure. In this regard, the company has appointed Phil Popham as the Group Market Director for Jaguar Land Rover.

      Speaking on the structural changes, Ralf Speth (Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover) was quoted as saying, "This reorganisation represents a natural evolution of our management team, designed to sharpen our relentless focus on customer first. It is the next phase in our development, mirroring the recent changes we made to product creation and delivery, and bringing together the strategy and processes supporting the brands."

      The company has given up on the global brand director roles, which were previously held by Adrian Hallmark of Jaguar and John Edwards of Land Rover. It is reported that Hallmark has now made the Group Strategy Director and he will be looking after developing business strategies and process. The company said in a statement, "In this new role he will be responsible for all global marketing activity on both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands." While the role for John Edwards has not been ascertained till now and it is expected that he will make it to the senior management team in the company.

      In addition, Andy Goss who heads Jaguar Land Rover in North America, is all set to become Group Sales Operations Director to look after the global sales and customer service strategy for the company. Goss, will be seen joining the team of Popham to become a member of executive committee. It is said that Jaguar Land Rover might soon announce the name of successor elated to oversee the role of President of North American operations for the company.

      Furthermore, the current Operations Director of Castle Bromwich plant, Grant McPherson will lead the designation of Director of Quality and Automotive Safety, which was formerly headed by Wolfram Liedtke, who is elated to retire from the company at the end of the year. As seen by industry experts, Jaguar Land Rover has taken this decision in order to up scale the brand in global markets by devising new marketing strategies in order to boost sales. The company has relied on the experience of its existing executives to take the firm a notch higher. In the meanwhile, Jaguar Land Rover's global sales encompassed 350,000 units in 2012 while the company is aiming to sell 750,000 units each year by 2020.
