In a shocking revelation, Tata owned Jaguar Land Rover has recalled approximately 104000 units of its models in the North American market. The recall has been done after the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had published three notices on several issues that could lead to faulty lighting and braking.

The recall will be initiated from 13th March and the company is expected to replace the front brakes. If these are not replaced, the brake speed could slow down, thus increasing the chances of a crash. These replacements will not be chargeable and the customers will be intimated before 13th March by sending them notifications.

      Range Rover Sport

In this recall process, the most affected model is the Range Rover Sport among which, 74468 models have been recalled. Incidentally, most models, which were built between 15th April 2005 and 4th September 2012, were called back. Apart from these models, all those models which were built from 16th August, 2012 to 8th January, 2014 as well as other sports cars manufactured between 7th May 2013 and 8th January 2014 were recalled. Some other cars like 4787 models of Jaguar XK have been recalled for software related parking lamp issues.

The NHTSA has a responsibility of gauging the safety aspect of vehicles in America and once a model is found faulty, it agrees to recall and replace a defective part. Only part is taking the car to the dealer. Such recalls have been issued quite a number of times in the last six months, most of which were airbag issues.
