Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the completely owned subsidiary of Indian automobile multinational Tata Motors, has launched a highly innovative 'Virtual Experience' service at its stores, which is focused towards providing state-of-the art visual representation of its vehicles. The fans of the British premium car maker can avail the creative service at company's retail outlets, which has been designed to enable customers to cherish a near-life-size high resolution rendition of JLR vehicles. The Virtual Experience service can be installed at showrooms and public platforms, including such places where real vehicles cannot be displayed.

The Jaguar Land Rover Virtual Experience allows users to open doors and start the ignition of a realistic life-sized digital model of a car, besides relishing a 360 degree view of the system as well. Evidently, in order to use the service one needs to simply point in order to start a system and admire its cutting-edge digital interpretation.

The futuristic technology provides customers with 'hands-on' access to a range of its vehicles. There are certain shortcomings of a real showroom where people cannot access the vehicles in a way they wish to. Accordingly, Virtual Experience has been designed in a sophisticated yet efficient manner providing a near-real representation of Jaguar and Land Rover cars. The touchpad screen allows customer to select any of different models and grades of equipment rendered by Virtual Experience with its ultra-high resolution. Further, movements are possible in the car, which allow customers to try all aspects of the vehicle.

Although the technology is modern and sophisticated, the equipment is extremely easy to use and portable, besides one laptop along with a display screen are available for customers to operate. The technology department of Jaguar Land Rover has shaped some remarkable progress in the development of such an incredibly complex system. The initial challenge was set by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company Dr. Ralf Speth in December last year. The Virtual Experience was demonstrated to public for the first time in September 2012, when customers got to witness the new Range Rover.

Virtual Experience received much applause by critics and media alike when it was showcased on JLR pavilion at the 2012 Paris motor show, where it supported the brand new Jaguar F-Type sports car and Range Rover. Nathan Summers, Business Relationship Director of Jaguar Land Rover, said, “Jaguar Land Rover offers customers an exceptional breadth of choice to tailor their vehicle. Virtual Experience presents customers with the opportunity to experience their personally designed vehicle in a very real environment.” He further added, “Virtual Experience is an innovation and shows where we see the future of our technology development. We are putting the customer in control as well as seeking new ways to modernise and customise their experience when choosing their new Jaguar or Land Rover.” According to sources, mobile applications for the same are also in the pipeline.
