The new MG SUV has officially been christned the Hector. It is a new D+ segment SUV from the Chinese owned British automaker and will be vehicle that Morris Garages makes its debut with in in the country in second half of 2019.
The car will be a rival to the likes of the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, and Hyundai Tucson and will be produced at a new facility in Halol that MG is expected to complete and put online within the next few months.
Through spy shots, we have got glimpses of the interiors as well as exterior design and so far know that this massive SUV will get a full LED lighting package, 10-inch touchscreen display and a segment first- 360 degree surround camera. We also know that it will be offered with both petrol and diesel power and in the case of the latter, word on the internet is that this engine will be a Fiat 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit.
The automaker has said that it will open 100 dealer touch points by the end of this year and follow the Hector, up in 2020, with an electric SUV and in all aim to produce one lakh cars annually.
