Isuzu Motors has rolled out D-Max pick-up truck in India at a starting price of Rs 5.99lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The newly launched pick-up truck is available in three variants including a Flat deck single cab trim, Flat deck space cab trim, and Arched deck space cab trim. Out of the three variants the middle and top end models are available for sale in India at Rs 6.19 lakh and 7.09 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) respectively. These trucks could be driven by those who have a licence to drive commercial vehicles; hence these trucks cannot be registered as private passenger vehicle.
To keep the price under affordable tag, the basic version of the D-Max pick-up truck comes devoid of many features. On the contrary, the top-of-the-line variant is equipped with ample features including body-coloured bumpers and door handles, power windows, central locking, steering rake adjust, air-conditioning and a day-night rear-view mirror, chrome garnish on grille and several others.
Among the three trims, the base Flat deck single cab variant and the middle variant, Flat deck space cab, come with a basic flat bed present at the rear. The flat bed attached at the back is utilized for storage, however the high end variant, Arched deck, comes with wheel arches insinuated into the cargo area. The basic and top end models are offered with two doors and two seats, but the middle variant, space cab, gets extra space at the back of the seats.
Powering the new D-Max Pick-up is a 2.5 litre, four cylinder, common rail diesel motor that yield a maximum power of 134 Bhp and a top torque of 29.57 kgm. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. With a tank capacity of 76 litres, the new Isuzu D-Max Pick-Up is claimed to run around 1,000 kms with the tank full.
