Indigo Sedan to Stay, Indica Vista Sedan to Come but Not Now

Earlier it was reported that a to-be-launched Indica Vista sedan may replace the Indigo Vista sedan in India. However, the Indigo sedan is here to stay and a possible Indica Vista sedan will not replace the Indigo. One of the main reasons for auto manufacturers to introduce new variants is to boost sales but in some cases older models continue to generate volumes and it is not wise to phase out such models.

Now Tata Motors intends to let the Indigo sedan stay and the Vista model for the same will also be introduced. The company is overwhelmed with the response received for Indica Vista and had planned to introduce a sedan version of the same. However, for now it will launch the Indigo Vista sedan built on Indica Vista platform at its Ranjangaon factory Maharashtra.

The Indigo Vista sedan will be an entry level sedan priced at Rs. 5 lakh and above. It will compete with Mahindra Renault Logan, Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford Ikon and Hyundai Accent. According to unconfirmed sources, the car is expected to be powered by 1.3L multi-jet engine that currently powers Fiat Linea and 1.4L petrol engine currently present in Tata Indigo.
