Indian Motorcycles, the popular bike manufacturer, took the curtains off its Scout model on the 2nd of August at the Sturgis motorcycle rally, making for a brilliant global unveiling. Now, according to a report by Overdrive, the model could make its way to the Indian market in the coming months, maybe by November.

The Scout model from Indian Motorcycles will mark its return, when launched, after seven decades since it was first produced. Polaris Industries, which acquired Indian sometime back, has been reinventing the firm in the market by introducing new and technologically advanced motorcycles. Considering the fact that the operations of Indian Motorcycles are just about a year old, sources claim that Polaris believes it can attract bike aficionados by launching the Scout in the market.

Indian Scout is fitted with a brand new V-Twin liquid cooled engine that has a displacement of 1133 cc. This powertrain enables the Indian Scout to generate an output of up to 100 BHP at 8100 RPM along with maximum torque of 98 Nm at 5900 RPM. The drivetrain in Scout is mated to a 6-speed gearbox working on the A belt drive function that transmits power to the rear wheel. Notably, Indian Scout is the lightest model in its entire portfolio at 244 kg. One of the highlights of this bike is the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which helps in improving the overall stability levels of the bike.

According to sources, this bike is going to be available in four colour options from which customers can choose, namely silver smoke, Indian motorcycle red, thunder black and thunder black smoke. In the United States of America, this bike is available at a price of INR 6.5 lakh, which is quite affordable. Reports have claimed that Polaris India is expected to follow a similar strategy, bringing Indian Scout to the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). In the Indian market, this bike could give the Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic a run for its money.
