      Indian Government gifts Mahindra & Mahindra vehicles to Nepal

      Indian home grown auto major, Mahindra & Mahindra, is grabbing headlines for all right reasons. In a recent development, it was learnt that the company has been roped by Government of India to deliver a fleet of 630 vehicles that would be handed over to Nepal. In a stated, the company said the Government of India intends to give away the vehicles manufactured by the brand as part of support for the upcoming Constitutional Assembly elections to be held in Nepal. The entire fleet of vehicles shall be delivered to the Election Commission and the Home Ministry in Nepal. It must be mentioned here that the election are scheduled to get underway in Nepal on 19th November 2013.

      The main motive behind giving such a large fleet of vehicles to Nepal is to offer support to the neighbour of India in order to strengthen its security during the polling phase. The vehicles given by Mahindra & Mahindra shall be utilised by the Security Forces of Nepal besides the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force to ensure that the election process is carried out smoothly.

      Speaking on this development, Cabinet Shrestha of Agni Incorporated, said that with this order, the company has been honoured by the government and it is an extremely proud moment for both the companies. Adding to it, he told that as Mahindra vehicles would be part of the elections in the country, it is indeed a national honour for both companies. “We are proud to be associated with the Mahindra Group which is a highly respected brand name in the automotive world. The supply of over 630 vehicles will further strengthen the Mahindra brand in the marketplace, and help make the election process more robust, providing a pillar of support to the nation.” added Shrestha.

      A thing to note here is that, Agni Incorporated commenced its business in 1991 as the authorized distributors of utility vehicles and tractors from Mahindra. At present, the company has managed to keep abreast with changing times becoming one of the leading utility vehicles distributor in Nepal for Mahindra.
