      Indian, Chinese cars inclined for U.S market

      Indian and Chinese auto makers have a great penchant towards introducing their creations in the U.S market, but what has come as a shocking revelation has distorted the long term plans and policies. If reports are to be relied upon, the people residing in the U.S have displayed their utter disinterest towards the move and are not at all eager for Indian and Chinese car products. Companies like Tata, BYD and Mahindra do not have much support and liking from the Americans.

      GfK, one of the largest market survey companies in its Automotive’s Barometer of Automotive Awareness and Imagery Study has found out the bitter fact. It reported that the Chinese and Indian automakers could encounter a purchase consideration curve akin to Korean vehicles which faced the same reaction when they launched their cars in the US. At that time, it took almost 15 years for the company to ascend the consideration of purchasing its products, which is a long time. The study conveyed that the problem lies in the fact that the brand recognition, its inducement and plausibility among the Americans consumes a lot of time. The study also reported that 38 percent of the respondents would prefer buying a Chinese car against the 30 percent preference of an Indian vehicle.

      Americans seem to be quite loyal towards their country’s car products and unlike the above trend; the hierarchy of preference for different makers excluding the Indian and Chinese makers is in contrast. With 95percent willing to buy a car produced by a U.S company, 76 percent from a German manufacturer, 75 percent a Japanese vehicle and 49 percent a Korean mode, U.S makers are the patriarch.

      Gfk survey also unveiled that the Hyundai Motors were gaining the likes of the Americans in the initial stages of its launch. Hyundai offered reliability, A-one quality, affordable prices, safety and performance which made all the difference. Companies such as BYD (China), Chery (China) and Mahindra (India) of late, have shown inclination towards launch of their products in the U.S, followed by infinite delays in the move.

      It’s articulate to understand that in the coming time, one can expect the intended carmakers to launch frequent products in markets like U.S. But for some makers, the right time is now as the creators of the Land Rover and Jaguar is Tata and that of Volvo is China’s Geely.
