Brand Land Rover is known all over the world for the superior off-road abilities of its vehicles. The year 2013 marks the 65th anniversary of the company, in celebration of which a program known as ‘Land Rover Experience’ was launched all across India. The first leg of this experience saw a convergence of customers at Lonavala near Mumbai, on May 3. Reportedly, more than 100 guests thoroughly enjoyed driving the huge vehicle over a terrain consisting of steep inclines, rocks, mud and water.

Expressing his excitement at the event, Land Rover owner and enthusiast Aditya Patel from Mumbai said, “The Land Rover experience was a very memorable one, but also a little daunting as I never imagined that a Land Rover was able to get through such conditions with so much ease.” Soon enough, the one-of-a-kind experience would also be knocking on the doors of other cities in India.

Speaking about the landmark occasion, Rohit Suri, Vice President for Jaguar Land Rover India said, “The aim of the Land Rover Experience events in India is to allow existing and potential customers to experience the breadth of capability of our vehicles. This trail was chosen for its wide range of challenging terrains, giving our guests an authentic off-road experience in ‘unmodified’ vehicles. The guests attending this event were overwhelmed with our vehicle capability and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”

Globally, Land Rover has been celebrating the anniversary since a few days now. Some of the events that took place witnessed the launch of a Special Edition LXV Defender. Speaking about the company's rich legacy, John Edwards, Land Rover’s Global Brand Director said, “March saw Land Rover deliver the strongest ever monthly and quarterly sales performance in its history. Since 1948, every component in our vehicles has been designed and engineered with intent and Land Rover continues to this day, to build the world’s most capable all-purpose vehicles.”
