The rest of the world waits and watches patiently as the world’s cheapest car hits the Indian roads by the end of this month. The dealers have already been informed of the delivery schedule. The shipments to respective dealers have already started and the lucky customers who have won Nano in the first draw and have been luckier to be selected for the first week deliveries are also equally anxious to own the car.

Indian customers will have the first batch of world’s most affordable car by last week of this month. Nearly 70 percent of the car’s bookings were done by non-metro customers. The complete delivery schedule of the car will be completed by the end of next year. It seems like a long wait and many customers are not re-thinking on their decision to hold their bookings.

All those customers who have not qualified for the delivery from the first draw have been given an option to withdraw their bookings or earn interest. 55,021 customers have chosen to retain their bookings and earn interest on the amount. The price of the base variant is Rs. 1 lakh which is available for the customers qualifying for delivery in the first draw only. Tata Motors holds the right to increase the price of the base model any time later. Currently, only 20 percent of the booking account for the base model while 30 percent are for CX variant and 50 percent for the top-end variant.
