Rumours are doing the rounds that German auto maker is working on a new version of Jetta sedan for the Indian market. Volkswagen could launch the new Jetta in India in the first quarter of 2015. The sedan is likely to don comprehensive changes on the interior and exterior front. Volkswagen recently displayed 2015 Jetta at the recently concluded New York International Motor Show, though the sedan exhibited is built for the North American market, but it is being expected that some of the tweaks could also be seen in India-spec model.

Among the exterior changes, the front grille meets seamlessly with the head lamps, rendering a more mature look to the sedan. A restyled bumper, chrome inserted head lamps, LED accents will also be spotted on new Jetta. Rear will don a new look, courtesy leaner stance and revivified bumper. Head lamps will be placed a tad higher. Inside the cabin a number of changes will be visible, including a larger screen, new steering and cylindrical housings for two preeminent dials. Besides these, several other minor upgrades will also be given.

Powering the sedan will be a 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine tuned to churn out an increased power by 10 Bhp. Besides new Jetta, Volkswagen is also readying to launch a new compact SUV in domestic market. If we go by rumours, VW could introduce Taigun SUV in India by 2015 or 2016. This would be the first sub-four meter SUV from Volkswagen in India. Volkswagen displayed Taigun at the 2014 Auto Expo held in February. The compact SUV is likely to be launched in petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol variants of Taigun could come packed with a 1.0 litre TSI engine engendering a maximum power of 110 Bhp along with a peak torque of 175 Nm. Diesel powered Taigun is likely to come equipped with a 1.2 litre TDI motor pumping out 74 Bhp of top power.
