Hyundai Motors has finally launched the much awaited ix25 compact SUV in the Chinese market. The compact SUV will make its Indian debut next year, and has already been spotted couple of times on Indian streets during test rounds. The Chinese-spec SUV is priced between 119,800 yuan (INR 11.97 lakh) and 179,800 yuan (INR 17.95 lakhs).
The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV will compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. when it comes to India. The ix25 was first unveiled as a pre-production concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.The vehicle is available in two petrol engine options- a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre. While the 1.6-litre engine is capable of producing 122.8bhp of power and 151Nm of torque, the more powerful, 2.0-litre motor, develops 158bhp and 192Nm of torque.
The 1.6-litre engine is only offered in 2WD version, while the 2.0-L engined model is available in both 2WD and 4WD options. Both engines are coupled to either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission.The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV measures 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,622mm in height, and it has a large wheelbase of 2,590mm. The 2WD variants get 183mm of ground clearance while the 4WD models have 180mm of ground clearance. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 17-inch alloys.
The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV is equipped with high end safety and security features such as ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), TCS (Traction Control System), Airbags (Driver & co-driver, and side airbags), Hill Assist System and others.
