The Hyundai Xcent facelift will be launched in the Indian market on April 20 and ahead of the date,  a speculative variant list has been leaked. This mid-life update for the compact sedan will be offered in five variants for both petrol and diesel engine options.
These are E, E+ (new variant), S, SX, SX (O). These variants are spread out across both petrol and diesel engine options with the latter also expected to be offered in the S AT trim level.

The top-of-the-line SX model now gets the same 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system as seen in the Grand i10. Also added to the package is climate control, button start, leather wrapped gear knob, LED DRLs, reverse camera, shark fin antenna and smart phone holder. On the outside this model gets a chrome package and diamond cut alloy wheels.

An alternator management system has been made standard across all variants. This is a technology where the battery is charged only during deceleration or when there is spare power available. It is a system that will aid in improving fuel efficiency.
The Xcent was always known to heavy on features and it looks like this one is no less. However, it appears that Hyundai has placed a larger emphasis on updating the higher spec models indicating that a large chunk of its buyers are purchasing these models rather than the entry-level and mid-level variants. These fully loaded variants will once again take the Xcent to the top of the market in terms of features.

Along with this expanded feature list the Xcent also gets a revised exterior design that sees it move from the sporty lines of the Grand i10 and to the conventional sedan design found in models like Elantra and Sonata.

However, the biggest change will be a new 1.2-litre diesel engine whose power output stays the same but gets a boost in torque to match the segment standard. It is offered with a five-speed manual. The petrol is also a 1.2-litre and can be had with a five-speed manual or a four-speed AT.

We believe that Hyundai will only marginally increase the prices of the Xcent in order to keep the car competitive among its main competition the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Honda Amaze
