On numerous instances the Grand i10 facelift has been spotted on test in the country ahead of its official launch. This time around sources have spotted a camouflaged Xcent facelift, thereby indicating on its possible launch sometime soon. The new model will get mild cosmetic upgrades, while mechanically it will get a slightly bigger diesel engine.
The front section is not clearly visible for now and it is believed that the vehicle will get a larger hexagonal grille and new stylish foglamps with integrated DRLs. The front is expected to have an uncanny resemblance to the upcoming Grand i10 facelift. The new model will also get new wheel caps. As for the rear section, though camouflaged, based on what can be seen the 2017 facelift version is likely to get larger tail lamps.
Under the hood, the petrol version is expected to continue being powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which comes mated to a five-speed manual as well as CVT options. As for diesel, this time around a 1.2-litre is expected to be on offer instead of an older 1.1-litre variant. The new diesel will offer slightly higher performance numbers and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The interior is expected to get mild upgrades in form of revised upholstery and an integrated touchscreen system in higher trims. For safety, the new model will get airbags as standard. As for the pricing element, it is expected to be priced around the existing range and post launch will compete strongly against Maruti Swift Dzire diesel variant. The mild hike in power will also favour the commercial buyers who have been eagerly looking forward to better performance figures.
