Hyundai India has now added a new variant 'CX' to the line-up of its mid-sized sedan Verna. This is due to increasing competition in the segment, which further got furious with the launch of fourth generation Honda City in diesel model. The company might also add some exclusive features to the top-end SX (O) variant to do well against the new City, which has come up with several first-in-class features. The CX will be positioned between the EX and SX variants of the Verna, the SX (O) with more features will continue to be the top-end variant.

The Hyundai Verna SX (O) will have features like projector headlamps, diamond-cut 16 inches alloys, illuminated power window switches, safety escort headlmaps and few more. The new CX model is fitted with several high-tech equipment like a 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth, electro-chromatic mirror, steering mounted controls, rear parking camera with parking sensors, climatronic control, electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators, ABS and driver and side airbags and others.

Under the hood, the Verna CX trim gets a 1.4-litre turbo diesel mill that churns out a maximum power output of 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. The SX (O) on the other hand continues to power a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel mill, capable of churning out a maximum power output of 126.3bhp at 400rpm, while yielding a peak torque of 259.9Nm @ 1900-2750rpm.

The company hasn't yet released any officially press release or statement about the new variant, so, we'll write about the price once we hear it from Hyundai.
