Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, will launch two all-new products- the Elite i20 Crossover and ix25 compact SUV this year. Adding to it, the company is also planning to launch the facelifted version of Verna and Elantra sedan in the country in 2015. The first car to hit market will be the Verna facelift, which is speculated to be launched on February 16, 2015. The current generation model was launched in 2011 and has received an excellent response from buyers across the nation. However, the arrival of new Honda City and Maruti Ciaz has affected the sales of Verna. In order to keep things fresh in the market, Hyundai is now readying the updated Verna.

The updated Verna aka Solaris has already been launched in the Russian market. The Verna facelift gets new front fascia with longer hood and sharp edges. It features a new and wider grille which is flanked by more elongated headlamps. The all-new fog lamps now get LED daytime running lamps. At the back, the sedan looks largely similar to the current model; however, the vehicle likely to get integrated LEDs in the tail lights.

Inside the cabin, the changes are likely to be minimal. It is expected to get an improved infotainment system and new upholstery for seats. The company is likely to offer improved driving dynamics, as the power steering seems to be shared with the new Elite i20. The steering in the current car is very light, which makes it difficult to control the car on high speeds and sharp turns. Adding to it, the company is also expected to tweak the suspension system to tackle rugged roads better.

Under the bonnet of the Hyundai Verna facelift are the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4L CRDi and 1.6L CRDi diesel engines. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed or six-speed manual gearbox. It is expected that the company might offer a six-speed automatic gearbox instead of current 4-speed.
