Hyundai Verna bags NDTV car of the year Award

Hyundai Verna, one of the most demanded mid-size sedans in the Indian market, has won the prestigious NDTV Car of the Year award. It is to be mentioned here that the recently rolled-out Verna Fluidic is receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers of this segment in the Indian market. The demand for this car is so high that it enjoys a waiting period of up to 6 months. The company has already sold over 34,000 units of this model in the Indian auto market, making it a runaway success in its segment where it is competing with highly competitive cars like Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti SX4 and Ford Fiesta.

Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), which is the second largest car maker and the largest car exporter in the country, had rolled-out an upgraded version of this sedan – Hyundai Verna Fluidic – in the Indian auto market in the month of May.

 

Besides the car of the year, the Hyundai Verna was also nominated for three other categories including compact sedan of the year, CNB viewers’ choice car and design of the year.
