Hyundai India has rolled out more affordable variants of the Verna petrol. Powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine, this new addition is available in two variants with prices ranging between Rs 7.79 lakhs and Rs 9.09 lakhs.
The Verna with the 1.4-litre petrol engine will be offered in two variants - E and EX with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Under the hood sits a 1.4-litre Kappa engine developing 100bhp at 6,000rpm and 132Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The fuel efficiency is said to have been improved by eight per cent over the 1.6 variant, at 19.1kmpl.
The current fifth-generation Verna was introduced in India in August 2017. It is based on Hyundai's Fluidic design language philosophy. Currently, the vehicle is available in 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options and competes against cars like the Honda City and the Volkswagen Vento.
