Hyundai will be unveiling the Tucson at the 2016 Auto Expo and the Korean automaker has realised a teaser for this SUV. The Tucson will be another new SUV for Hyundai that will be placed in between the Creta and the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe will be made available on sale by June 2016.
The Indian version of the Tucson will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesle engine that will be producing about 182bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. This will be made available with a front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive option for the Indian car market. Mostly it should be made available with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Tucson will be locally assembled in Hyundai’s Chennai plant and its knocked-down kit will be made available from Korea or Europe. The Tucson is being introduced after Hyundai’s success with the Creta. The company will not want to slow down its growth and maintain its momentum in the SUV segment. The Tucson’s pricing will be between Rs 18 lakhs to Rs 23 lakhs (ex-showroom).
