It was just last week that Hyundai announced that their i30 N was due to be launched in Europe in the latter half of 2017. Now, we now have fresh reports that state the company may be eyeing the Tucson for some N treatment too.

Hyundai Tucson could be at the receiving end of N treatment

Albert Biermann, boss of Hyundai’s N arm, earlier revealed that the i30 N is the first of its kind, and many more high-performance Hyundai cars will follow suit. However, he recently disclosed that the Hyundai Tucson has the makings of a high-performance SUV, which in other words, could only mean that it could get the N treatment after all.

There’s no doubt that Hyundai has done their homework well. The demand for crossovers and SUVs are so strong that it makes perfect business sense to have a performance-oriented version too. We have seen this trend in cars like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, where they get spacious interiors along with lots of boot space, and are powered by a massive 707bhp generating power-plant. We believe what’s key for Hyundai here is that they need to first find out how their i30 N is received internationally before going down the same alley with the Tucson. Stay tuned to CarTrade so that we can continue to fill you in on Hyundai’s plans.
