Hyundai recently unveiled its new compact SUV, the Kona. But it looks like the company doesn’t want to stop. Hyundai plans to launch to more SUVs in the next few years.
The first SUV in question has been termed as the ‘A-SUV’ which will hit the markets by 2020. This Hyundai SUV will sit below the Kona and will be developed for emerging markets like India and Brazil. There’s also another SUV that will be positioned about the Santa Fe, however, there are not much details on this vehicle. But it looks like the Korean maker wants to have a full five-SUV model range that will help it stay with the current trend and also generate more sales and revenues. An SUV bigger than the Santa Fe is a possibility, however, this one will primarily cater the North American market.
“Our plan is to come up with A-segment SUV - smaller than Kona - by 2020 - and so we want to embrace from A-segment to E-segment. We’re also planning to roll out an E-segment SUV that’s bigger than Santa Fe. We want our line-up to reflect our customers’ needs," said Chung Eui-sun, vice-chairman, Hyundai.
