      Hyundai to launch new Xcent in India tomorrow

      The much awaited Hyundai Xcent facelift will finally be launched in India tomorrow. The new model will feature fresh design upgrades along with an updated diesel engine. This time around, Hyundai will be offering the Xcent in five trim levels - E, E+ (new trim), S, SX, SX (O), unlike the generation which is available in four trims.

      Mechanically, the new Hyundai Xcent will retain the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine which generates 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. Whereas, the diesel version will be upgraded from current 1.1-litre to a 1.2-litre engine that generates around 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a five speed manual transmission, while the petrol will be offered with an optional four-speed automatic gearbox.

      Speaking about the exterior, the new Hyundai Xcent features a six-slat hexagonal chrome grille along with smoked sweptback headlamps, LED DRLs and a new bumper. The vehicle will also get new fog lamps along with body coloured door handles as part of its fresh upgrade. The interior in the top spec trim will be offered with a new seven-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android auto with navigation, and multi-function steering wheel. On the safety aspect, the current generation model gets driver airbag and ABS as standard, while the upcoming model will be offered with dual front airbags along with alternator management system (AMS) as standard.

      Hyundai Xcent has always been a considerable contributor to overall Hyundai sales. This time around, the new model which is more feature loaded will have an upper hand in the segment as it rival the new Maruti Dzire is yet to be launched in the country. In comparison to Tata Tigor, the diesel engine in the new Xcent is expected to generate better torque output, while additionally offering a larger infotainment system. Official price for the vehicle will be known tomorrow, however we believe it might be priced somewhere between Rs 5.5 lakh - Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
