While we are still waiting for the Verna facelift, Hyundai has already started working on the next-generation Verna sedan. The new-gen Verna is likely to be launched in the Korean market next year. It will get an all-new exterior styling and premium interiors and a new engine lineup.

The pre-production prototype of the next Verna has been spotted in South Korea. The spotted car features a unique gold shade, newly designed wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators and a sunroof. It seems like the sedan share its styling cues with the new Genesis; the front end looks more aggressive. The new grille is complemented by sharp projector headlamps.

Inside the cabin, the next Hyundai Verna will be more premium and will be loaded with high-end features. Instead of the flowing centre console, the sedan is expected to get an upright dashboard design that sports new touchscreen infotainment system. It will offer spacious cabin with large rear legroom and extra space for luggage.

The Hyundai Verna will get the slightly tweaked, current range of engine lineup. Adding to it, the sedan is also expected to get a new 106bhp, 1.0-litre TCi 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that will also power the European i20. A five and six speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard, while the new 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox will replace the 4-speed AT box.
