Hyundai has taken the covers off the new Creta for Brazil at the Sao Paulo Auto Show. Featuring subtle design changes and upgraded equipment, the Brazilian-spec Creta will go on sale starting January next year. As one would expect, these upgrades would be carried over to the facelifted global-spec Creta that will be launched in India in the first half of 2017.

In terms of design upgrades, the new Creta gets a restyled bumper and more plastic cladding across the lower half. The grille, too, is noticeably different although it is reminiscent of newer Audis with its chrome edges blending into the LED daytime running lights.
Inside, the Brazilian-spec Creta gets different seat upholstery and an upgraded infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other features include ventilated driver’s seat, engine start/stop button, parking sensors, cornering lights, six airbags, ESP and more.
In Brazil, the Creta is being offered with either a 130bhp 1.6-litre or a bigger 2-litre engine with 166bhp.While the latter is paired to an automatic gearbox as standard, the 1.6-litre engine can be had with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Hyundai will launch the Creta in Brazil early next year. Given its immense popularity here in the Indian market, we expect these upgrades to reflect on the facelifted model that will be launched in India in the first half of 2017.
