      Hyundai Santa Fe facelift's India launch in 2015

      South Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch the i20 Cross and ix25 compact SUV in 2015. Besides these two, the company is also planning to introduce the updated Santa Fe and Verna sedan in India. The updated Santa Fe gets subtle changes both inside and out. Adding to it, the company has also tweaked the mechanics of the SUV including steering and suspension units.

      Talking about the changes, the 2015 Santa Fe gets a new 32 bit microprocessor for its steering system. The reworked suspensions features new front wheel bushes and revised rear suspension geometry. Inside the cabin, the SUV gains daytime running lamps, a blind spot mirror on the driver side ORVM, and one touch front passenger power window. Adding to it, the vehicle also gets an optional Hands-free Smart Lift-gate with auto open function.

      The company has also added two new exterior shades- Sparkling Silver and Platinum Graphite. This seven-seater SUV will compete against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The Santa Fe comes in India as completely knocked down (CKD) kits imported from South Korea.

      Hyundai Santa Fe luxury SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 194bhp and a peak torque of 421Nm. This engine is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. When paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox, the engine develops 194bhp and 437Nm of peak torque. The Santa Fe is priced at Rs. 25.6 lakh for base variant and Rs. 28.41 lakh for top-end model.
