The new Santa Fe rechristened as Hyundai Santa Fe Prime has been unveiled in South Korea. The new facelifted trim features fresh cosmetic and minor technological upgrades. The fresh upgrades are expected to create a good demand for the SUV in the Korean market. Sometime early in 2016, the new trim is expected to be launched in the US markets.
Under the hood the new Hyundai Santa Fe gets two engine options – Base 2.0 liter variant is capable of producing about 183 Hp of power with 296 lb-ft of torque, whereas the 2.2 Liter variant is capable of generating about 199 Hp of power with about 325 lb-ft of torque. The diesel engines have been mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. Sources have indicated that the US trim is likely to get a more powerful 2.4 Liter and 3.3 Liter V6 engine. Sources have also indicated on a Hybrid version in works.
As part of fresh upgrades the vehicle gets LED guide lamps mated with the headlamps and LED daytime-running lights. The redone grills compliment the front bumpers. As fo safety and convenience the vehicle gets autonomous emergency braking along with a 360-degree camera. For entertainment, the JBL surround sound systems does the job just perfectly.
