      Hyundai Santa Fe arrives with auto transmission in India

      yundai India, the Indian subsidiary of the fourth largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motors, recently unveiled its SUV Santa Fe's advanced variant, affixed with the automatic transmission, in India. This time round, the four-wheel-drive Santa Fe, backed by the power of a 2.2-litre CRDi engine, carries an all-new feature in the form of six-speed automatic transmission. In addition to this, special features such as push-start button and a smart key, vindicates the automation quotient of the car.

      The CRDi engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 194 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 421 Nm at 1800 to 2500 rpm. The powerful engine possesses plethora of advanced technologies that aid in striking poise between performance and drivability. Vide the new SUV offers a combined fuel mileage of 11.72 kmpl, as per the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certification.

      The advanced SUV has earned huge laurels, as it was awarded five-star safety rating by New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).  The latest version of Hyundai Santa Fe comprise a number of active and passive safety features such as, electronic stability program (EPS) and anti-lock braking system. In addition, the electronic brake force distribution (EBD) takes complete care of the stability quotient. The six standard airbags and active headrests further enhance the protection level provided to the occupants of the stunning SUV.

      Mr. H. W. Park, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited said that the major reason which inspired the company to bring out the new version of Santa Fe was the positive response from its buyers. And as a result, the car performed well, carving a niche for itself in the auto market, boosting the car maker to improve it furthermore.  

      Since its launch in October 2010, around 1,100 units of the SUV have been sold. The 4WD Santa Fe automatic is priced at Rs. 24.36 lacs.

      Thus, it seems that this time too, Hyundai would live up to the expectations of its customers, as the new version with automatic transmission, is believed to serve more purposes than it did previously.
