      Hyundai sales surge 11 percent in November

      Hyundai Motors India limited (HMIL), has reported a sales surge of 11 percent in the month of November 2011. The company managed to sell 35,000 units of its cars in the country during this month as compared to 31,540 units sold in the same month last year.

      Speaking on the company’s performance, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Director Marketing and Sales at HMIL, said, "In a challenging market we have been able to grow volumes and market share on the strength of our new launches - Verna and Eon. Our immediate outlook on the market is not too bright as interest rates and fuel prices are unlikely to soften in the foreseeable future."

      If we take a look at the company’s performance segment wise, the small car segment remained the biggest contributor in the company’s sales during the month. The A2 segment (including Eon, Santro Xing, i10, i20) clocked total sales of 48,732 units. On the other hand, the A3 segment of Hyundai cars that is comprises of sales of Accent and Verna, stood at 8,223 units during the month.

      Moreover, the company sold 122 units of premium sports utility vehicle Santa Fe and 3 units of its premium sedan Sonata Transform
