Hyundai's upcoming i20 set for production - 1.0L Turbo Petrol Engine to be launched in 2015

Renowned automobile manufacturer Hyundai has started production of the Elite i20, which is the European version of the best-selling car. The production procedure has commenced in Turkey and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. There must be a lingering question in the minds of car lovers about the speciality of the European version. A lot has been upgraded in the European version like LED daytime lights, all-black premium interiors, projector headlamps as well as some other changes, as well.

However, the best aspect of the car remains the Kappa 1.0 litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine. It can churn out a maximum of 118 bhp just like most other cars. The peak torque achieved by the car is approximately 172 Nm. The first time Hyundai displayed this engine was at the Paris Motor Show. It was declared that the engine will make its way in the new i20 sometime during 2015 in the European version.

There are ample scopes of bringing this turbo petrol engine to India as the fans have been waiting eagerly for its inception here. Initially, the 1.4 litre Gamma petrol of Hyundai Elite i20 was discontinued that was characteristic for the company with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. However, this used to feature in the previous generation i20. Hyundai India might introduce this engine in their all-new 7-speed, dual clutch arrangement. The brand is all set to give stiff competition to the other automotive giants with this ultra-modern engine.
