Recently Hyundai was recently asked by the Government of India to halt the sale of its vehicles via Canteen Stores Department (CSD). The reason cited back then was lack of discount being offered on the Creta SUV. The letter reportedly stated instructions to halt the sale of Hyundai cars via CSD pertained to Creta alone, but it also reportedly came with a directive to stop the sale of Hyundai cars via CSD altogether.

Post undertaking corrective measures, the matter has been resolved and a new letter addressed to CSD depots state that they can resume the sale of Hyundai cars henceforth. The Korean automaker is also believed to have reduced the waiting period to about 2 months as against the earlier 6-7 month waiting period. With this, servicemen from the country’s armed forces can once again opt for the vehicle of their choice at a best discounted price.
