Hyundai Motors India limited is planning to introduce the diesel version of i10 in end 2008 or early next year. It had earlier set its deadline for introducing the diesel version by the year 2010. It decides to schedule launch of the diesel version earlier that would follow the launch of i20.
The new diesel version shall have new engine and transmission system. It shall be manufactured exclusively at its new plant in Chennai. The i10 shall sport a brand new engine at 80 bhp that shall be compliant with Euro-V emission norms.

Hyundai shall also be launching its new premium model Santa Fe this year. It shall be its luxury sports utility vehicle that shall be imported as a completely built unit from South Korea and shall sell in India. Currently, Hyundai has undertaken a feasibility study of launching the upgraded and premium model of Sonata in India.
Hyundai shall also be launching LPG variants for Accent and Santro in the third quarter of 2008. Hyundai has already shifted its complete manufacturing operations for small cars in India. It has also made India as its export hub for small cars.
