In an effort to regenerate customer interest for its entry-level vehicle, the Eon, Hyundai has introduced two new Sports Edition trims. The new variant gets a new 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with phone link, AUX-in port and USB Port. Additionally, it also gets side-body moulding graphics and roof rails. The AVN system is connected to two speakers on the front door. The new offering from Hyundai further strengthens its competition against the Renault Kwid and Marut Suzuki Alto in India.
Hyundai Eon Sports Edition is limited to 0.8-litre Era+ and Magna+ trims. The Sports Edition Era+ trim additionally gets hub caps too. However, unlike with the regular trim, airbag is not offered as an optional accessory with the Sports Edition. The new edition cars continue to be powered by a 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder MPI petrol engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and generates 55bhp of power at 5,500 rpm and 74.5Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
