Hyundai launches 2017 Creta with two new variants

A few days ago, reports of a new 2017 model Hyundai Creta had been doing the rounds. It was believed that the new model will get fresh features and cosmetic upgrades. Now, Hyundai has finally introduced the 2017 Creta at a starting price of Rs 9.28 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Additionally, the company has also introduced two new trims - E+ in 1.4-litre diesel and SX+ dual tone in 1.6-litre diesel as well as petrol engine options.

Speaking of features, the 2017 Creta now additionally offers smartphone connectivity with a 7-inch Audio Video Navigation - Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link. The new touchscreen system also supports the rear parking camera. As for exterior, the 2017 Creta does not get major upgrades except for the SX+ Dual Tone variant which offers a Piano Black finish roof-top and a sporty black spoiler. The trim will be offered in two body color combinations - white with black and red with black. Along with beige leather seats, potential customers can now also opt for black and red, two tone leather package with an all-black dashboard. The new model continues to get LED daytime running lights, 17 inch diamond cut wheels and LED tail lamps.

Under the hood, the 2017 Creta continues to be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine which generates 122bhp of power and 154Nm of torque. The diesel version, on the other hand, will be available in two engine options, a 1.4-litre engine that generates 89bhp of power and 224Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre engine generates 126bhp of power and 265Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines are available in six-speed manual as well as six-speed automatic transmission options, while the smaller 1.4-litre diesel is offered only with a manual transmission.
