If media reports are to be believed, the Elite i20 crossover will go on sale in the country in the first quarter of 2015. On the other hand, the ix25 compact SUV is expected to be launched in the mid-2015. The Elite i20 crossover is likely to be priced around Rs. 40,000 - 50,000 more than the hatchback sibling. The Elite i20 based crossover will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol and the 1.4-litre CRDi turbo diesel engine that will be carried over from the hatchback sibling. A five-speed manual gearbox driving the power to front wheels will come as standard.

Along with component sharing, the crossover will also share its mechanics with the Verna facelift. The vehicle would get 1.6-litre and 1.4-litre petrol and diesel fuel options. A 4-wheel drive option will be on offer to compete against Duster AWD and Scorpio 4WD.
