After making a stunning debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the next generation Hyundai i20 has been launched by the company in the country in 12 exciting new variants. The South Korean automaker, Hyundai Motor India will be rolling out this much awaited premium compact car with the most advanced package of features in the segment with trendy exteriors and upbeat interiors.
The new gen i20 will embody the powerful 1.4L U2 CRDi diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission capable of pumping out a peak power of 90 PS along with a peak torque of 114 Nm. The 1.2L petrol engine with automatic transmission outpours an increased power of 100PS and 136.3Nm of torque.
The exterior front has endowed a trendy modification with more heptagonal grille and smoothly flowing creases. The increased convenience offered for the driver features Rear Parking Camera with display on the cabin mirror, an Auto Headlight Control Function, rain sensing wipers, Clean Air Cluster Ionizers and Electro Chromic Mirror providing anti glare vision during the night.
On the safety front, the new Hyundai i20 scores high with ABS, a smart pedal system to override the accelerator, impact sensing door unlocking system, speed sensing auto door locking, six airbags, reverse parking sensors and clutch lock system.
The next generation Hyundai i20 will be shelved between Rs. 4.73 lakhs to Rs. 6.65 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol variants while the diesel variants will be priced between Rs. 5.96 lakhs to Rs. 7.44 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the automatic transmission version is expected to be rolled out at Rs. 7.67 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
