      Hyundai introduces New i-Gen i20 with Fluidic magic

      Hyundai Motor India Limited, the second largest auto maker in India has occupied a respectable position in the market due to the introduction of it’s ‘i series’, which has redefined the compact segment of the country. The premium compact car, Hyundai i20 has been a remarkable performer in the industry and thereby, the car is bound to have an up-gradation in design.

      Since Hyundai introduced its i20 in the Indian market during 2008, it has emerged as a benchmark for the company. This car is widely known for the availability of a number of variants that delivers decent mileage with great interior styling and spacious seating arrangement. The company has recently introduced an alluring ‘fluidic’ design treatment with its i20, which is proudly flaunted by the car.

      The new iGen i20 was initially unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and is now launched in 12 different variants for the Indian auto market. With the launch of new model, the company will replace the existing model of i20.

      The new generation model of i20 is not just provided with an attractive exterior appearance but similar to the 2008 model, the car is again set to establish new heights in its segment. The features like rear parking camera with screen in cabin mirror, an auto-headlight control function, clean air-cluster ionizers and rain sensing wipers are incorporated within the car. In addition to this, an electro chromic mirror is also provided within the car, which offers an anti-glare vision to provide a clear view during the night.

      Commenting upon the new i-Gen i20, Mr BS Seo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “The New i-Gen i20 is a bold new offering with stylish looks and a host of unique features. Our extensive surveys indicated that the customer is seeking hi-tech and innovative features, we have incorporated the research findings in the i-Gen i20 to offer a high value proposition.”

      BS Seo further added that the company has assimilated research findings within the new i-Gen i20 to cope up with the demands of those customers seeking for advanced and modern features in a car.

      The new i20 holds an advanced 1.1 litre 3 cylinder U-II diesel engine, equipped with BlueDrive technology for the next gen model especially for the European markets. For the Indian perspective, the fluidic i20 is incorporated with a more powerful and sophisticated 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine, assimilated with Dual VTVT mechanism. The maximum power churned by this engine stands at 83 bhp, an increase of 4 bhp as compared to previous Kappa engine. As far as diesel variant of this car are concerned, it is equipped with a 1.4 litre engine.

      The diesel variants of new gen i20 will be offered between a price tag of Rs. 5.96 lacs and Rs. 7.44 lacs, while the automatic version will be tagged from Rs. 7.67 lacs (ex- showroom Delhi).
