Hyundai India, the second largest carmaker, is working on to create a premium brand identity. To do it, Hyundai will design its dealerships across the country under 'Global Dealership Space Identity' initiative that was announced last year. Since the company is planning to extend its premium product lineup in the next few years, this will improve its customer-base and their association with the brand.

Under this initiative, all Hyundai India dealerships will get a unified layout by 2018. The Korean automaker will offer financial support to its dealers for the constructional layout changes over Rs. 1 crore. The company will also provide new furnishings, gizmos and open spaces for developing unified customers visiting showrooms across India.

Considering the changing market equations and shift in customers’ choice, Hyundai decided to invest in GDSI scheme. According to statistics, the premium car market has grown at tremendous pace, i.e. five times the last fiscal year, while the entry level car market registered a growth of around 6%.

Just like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki India, too, is planning to open new premium dealerships, which are likely to be called Nixa. The Nixa dealerships will offer the new generation Maruti cars including the all-new Ciaz, and upcoming Fronz hatchback (a.k.a YRA) and ACross SUV (a.k.a S-Cross).
