Hyundai i30, the widely popular car in Europe from the stables of the South Korean auto giant, has crossed a sales figure of one million unit. The car ever since its launch in 2007 for the European market has been widely appreciated by the car enthusiasts and has received tremendous response from buyers. The i30 also happens to be Hyundai's best selling car in Europe. Hyundai i30, apart from being highly praised, has so far also bagged a large number of awards, which include, Best Mid-size Car Under $28,000' by Australia's Best Cars, Best Family Hatch by New Zealand news, Most Satisfying car in Britain and the latest in 2012, Best Family Car.

While the first generation i30 made its debut five years back, the one presently available in the European market is its second generation and is very popular among young buyers, who look for a dynamic car with superior performance. The car has always had a large number of fans and has left some of the class leaders in the segment like Ford Focus and VW Golf behind. The i30 has been preferred by people over its competitors owing to its refined styling, a host of safety and comfort features and lower emissions.

While the i30 has been present in the international market for many years, the company has not launched it in India so far. The reason behind this may be that the South Korean car maker has already brought a number of vehicles in the country which fill almost all the segments. Some of the popular cars from Hyundai in India are i10, i20, Verna, Elantra and Santa Fe, which are priced in such a way that it would be difficult to place the i30 between any two segments. Moreover, if the i30's price in the European market is considered, it would amount to around Rs. 10 lakhs in the India. This will definitely hamper the sales of the car as the Indian buyers are not likely to prefer a hatchback in this price range.

The company has so far not made any announcement about i30's launch in the country and currently it doesn't even appear feasible for Hyundai to introduce it in India. However, as the i30 is highly popular in the International market, the auto maker may consider launching it in India the near future.
