The all new Hyundai i20 Elite has been in the news everywhere. The latest one rechristened as 'i20 Elite' was launched last week. Designed in Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe in Rüsselsheim, the new Hyundai i20 is stated to be based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy. The long hood and generous shape create a powerful stance for the recently launched i20 Elite. The Hyundai i20 Elite has been launched in Petrol as well as diesel variant. The petrol version is offered at a lucrative starting price tag of about Rs. 4.89 lakhs, whereas the diesel variant starts at Rs. 6.09 lakhs (Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
Petrol variants are powered by the 1.2 litre engine claimed to return an impressive fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl. Diesel range gets the 1.4 litre, U2 CRDi diesel mill with displacement of 1,396cc capable of developing a top power of 90 PS and peak torque of 22.4 kgm. The diesel power-train is vouched to return an excellent fuel economy of 22.54 kmpl. Five-speed manual transmission has been paired to both petrol and diesel engine options.
As for the exteriors the new Elite i20 gets auto head lights and auto folding wing mirrors. Except for the base Era trim, all variants get cooled glove box as a standard feature. Top-of-the-line version Asta now gets two airbags as against six airbags that came previously. As for safety, the Hyundai Elite i20 comes with features like dual airbags, anti-lock-braking system with electronic brake-force distribution have been put on offer on Asta trim. Mid variant, Sportz on the other hand gets the driver airbag and ABS only. Hyundai claims that the new variant will offer improved handling and performance. New Elite i20 is available in seven colour options- Red Passion,Pristine Blue, Mystic Blue, Star Dust, Midas Gold, Polar White and Sleek Silver.
For the interiors, the Elite i20 gets new Bluetooth system, two-tone colour scheme, audio system with 1GB internal memory, eight speakers and rear AC vents are offered on the high end version. New features that have been embedded inside the cabin include in-built service indicator on the restyled multi-information display and steering position indicator.
