Hyundai's much talked about luxury Genesis sedan had been showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor show. Initially it was said that the luxury sedan shall first make way in limited numbers to UK and European markets for a general market survey. The Korean car-maker has surprised the global market by launching the luxury sedan on a global platform. As per sources, the Genesis sedan is also expected to make it to the Indian market in limited numbers. Based on an official press release, the all new sedan is a result of a 500 billion Won (€342 million) investment by Hyundai over a four year period.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor Europe, said, “All-new Genesis offers a unique premium ownership experience that demonstrates the true breadth of our engineering and technological capabilities. There are a number of world and Hyundai-first technologies applied to this car, making it a true showcase of what we can achieve, and continuing Hyundai’s legacy of delivering value beyond expectations across a broadening number and variety of high-quality cars.”

The Hyundai Genesis sedan shall be available in two engine variants. The 3.8 Litre V6 GDI engine generates about an impressive 311 Bhp. Moreover, the 3.8 Liter variant comes with an optional HTRAC all wheel drive system. Another version is a power-packed 5.0-litre V8 engine that delivers a mind-boggling output of about 420 Bhp. Both the engines are mated to 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers all the power you need with just a tap on the accelerator pedal. The car also boasts about featuring the world's first CO2 cabin sensor that monitors the interior’s CO2 levels to prevent potentially dangerous circumstances that may arise due to drowsiness.

The car was purely a show-stopper at the Geneva Auto show owing to its stunning looks and beautifully crafted interiors. Hyundai has left no stone unturned while focusing on the driving aesthetics with the Smart Cruise Control feature. Security aspect is taken care of by the Automatic Emergency Braking, Sophisticated multi-link front and rear suspension, and perfect near-equal weight distribution. Interiors are spacious and have been designed to deliver complete comfort even during long journeys. It is anticipated that the 3.8 Liter variant of the Genesis sedan shall be offered at a price tag of Rs. 45 Lakh.
