Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in Chennai to the extent that many places have submerged under water and are inaccessible. The car manufacturers have taken a decision of halting production at their plants primarily in view of the safety of employees. This will also avoid further damage to the companies that have already incurred huge losses.

The situation is a bit grim in Chennai due to the heavy downpours and will indirectly affect the car sales as well. The halt in production will be a setback for the companies and buyers as well as it will extend the waiting period of vehicles. The cars that might be affected the most are the Renault Kwid, Hyundai Creta and Elite i20, which already have a huge demand and call for long waiting periods. Let’s hope and pray that the situation returns to normalcy for the usual operations to begin again.
