      Hyundai Experiences Smooth Ride Again

      Workers at Hyundai plant have returned to work after their two-day strike. Production is back on track as the strike got called off on Wednesday. A meeting was held at Tamil Nadu’s labour minister’s residence where company representatives and workers met with each other in presence of the minister.

      After the meeting, R Sethuraman, Senior VP, finance and Corporate affairs, HMIL, convened an urgent press meeting stating that the company has signed an MoU with the striking workers and the strike has been called off. Hyundai has agreed to re-instate 67 workers dismissed last year. “We have accepted the main demand of the union to restore 67 workers. We have assured that 32 workers would go through the legal route. We have sealed on this,” Sethuraman stated further in his statement to press.

      Hyundai remains one of the most prized possessions for the TN government with its Rs 8000 crores investment in the state along with another Rs. 8000 crores investments through its vendors.
