The second largest car manufacturer in India, Hyundai Motors, is going to launch the facelift version of its once best-selling model- Eon. Launched in 2011, the company never focussed on bringing any changes in the car until recently when it realised “nothing is permanent except the change”.
This new facelift model has been sited getting tested on the streets of South Korea - the home of the car maker. Test mules, along with some other trusted sources, have led to rumours that the facelift of Hyundai Eon will roll out in the market by the end of 2015. The camouflaged photographs of this model didn’t give much to our judgement, but sources say that the most of the changes could be seen at the front and rear ends.
So far, Hyundai Eon was being sold in two different engine configurations - 800 cc and 1000 cc. It is expected that the new model will deliver a stiff competition to the entry-level hatchbacks like Maruti Alto and Nissan Datsun Go. It is being reported that the car maker will bring some promising variations at the interiors of the car, along with some extra features providing a good value for money. The exteriors will also be enhanced ergonomically to meet the current standards of Indian auto market.
Industry experts believe that the upcoming model will turn out to be a volume puller for the company. It is expected that the new Eon will be able to live on the legacy of Hyundai India and create an overwhelming remark in terms of sales and service. Besides these expectations, a slight upgradation in the power and engine specifications of the vehicle is also anticipated.
